Happy Valentine's Day from Curse's Resident Poet

In honor of Valentine's Day, Corrine let me use an excerpt from Wistful Musings from a Crow's Nest. It's from her pre-Copper days, of course, when she wasn't so lucky in love.

Pirates are manly

And pirates are strong.

On deck they fan me

And sing me a song.

To date them is pleasant

I’ll freely admit.

But they’re so adolescent

Swinging off the bowsprit.

Yeah, I need a smart man,

And one who’s well-read.

Not just merely strong, tan,

Who’ll soon end up dead.

Where are the good guys?

Respectful and funny?

Not likely to tell lies?

Not focused on money?

I’d rather be single,

I grudgingly say,

Than any more mingle

With morons all day.

Yeah dating is stupid

When options are few.

Oh, come on Cupid,

Quit making me blue.

I want some affection

With an honorable dude.

While I wait for perfection,

I’ll mope here and brood.

Jennifer tried to contact Black Pearl's resident poet, but he said he takes Valentine's Day far too seriously to waste any time on Valentines for you. Jennifer found somebody with a little more time on his hands...or paws.

Pepper says, "You're great! Enjoy this special gift of my affection!"
